Exploring the application of ChatGPT in learning English of students – A study on perception of sophomores at Nguyen Tat Thanh University

Abstract

This research focuses on analysing the application of ChatGPT, which is a natural language processing model, in learning English at the university level. A survey was conducted in 244 sophomore at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, to investigate their opinions on the use of ChatGPT in education. Results indicate that the majority of students hold a positive view towards using ChatGPT in learning English and believe that it can help improve their English skills. The research also proposes several ways to enhance the effectiveness of using ChatGPT in learning. In summary, this study highlights the potential of ChatGPT in supporting English education at universities.
