Abstract

In the context of digital transformation in pharmaceutical industry, the application of the Internet of Things (IoT) in supply chain management and drug storage monitoring has become an inevitable trend. This study evaluated the effect of IoT technology in monitoring drug storage conditions and pharmaceutical stabilityThe research methodology included a comprehensive review on IoT applications in pharmaceutical logistics, followed by a simulation of an IoT sensor system connected to a cloud-based platform to record, store, and analyze environmental data during drug transportation. The sensor devices were directly attached to the shipment and connected to a real-time data management platform. Results have shown that the implementation of the IoT system can reduce the risk of drug spoilage by 30–40%, while improving transparency and traceability of pharmaceutical products within the supply chain. Moreover, this intelligent monitoring model supports cold chain optimization, reduces operational costs, and enhances quality control capacity for both enterprises and regulatory authorities. The study contributes scientific evidence for implementing a smart pharmaceutical supply chain,  aligning with the digital transformation and sustainable development goals of Vietnam’s pharmaceutical sector in the Industry 4.0 Era.
