Benchmarking of training programs of bachelor of science in nursing
Main Article Content
Abstract
Internationalizing higher education in the field of nursing is an urgent requirement to meet the demand for high-quality human resources capable of working in a global environment. This study compares seven nursing bachelor's degree programs from universities that have achieved AUN-QA standards or have internationally-oriented learning outcomes to identify the factors that make a training program internationally standardized. Results have shown that the programs taking more than 04 years and/or enhancing foreign language knowledge from the beginning of the course are considered to have the highest level of readiness. Programs that have achieved AUN-QA accreditation and clearly described the employment opportunities for graduates in international settings are also considered to have a high level of readiness. Conversely, programs that do not prepare students for working in international environments are considered to have a lower level of readiness. Therefore, training programs need to enhance course duration, foreign language content, and the proportion of lectures delivered in a foreign language to be considered suitable for the requirements of internationalizing the nursing field.
